En complément de sa conférence sur les marteaux des pianos français de l'époque romantique, Christopher Clarke propose un atelier qui donnera la possibilité de voir, de manipuler et d'expérimenter des marteaux originaux et leurs matières, et de comparer ces dernières avec leurs équivalents modernes.
Il y aura également une démonstration d'une machine à garnir individuellement les marteaux, réplique d'une machine française du XIXème siècle, avec la possibilité pour les participants de s'en servir.

As a complement to the paper on French Romantic piano hammers, the workshop session proposed by Chistopher Clarke will offer a chance to see, feel and experiment with original hammers and their materials, and compare them with modern-day equivalents.
Ther will be a demontration of a replica of a 19th century French single hammer-covering machine and an opportunity for participants to use it.
